The Canadian Arabian Horse Association was incorporated under the Animal Pedigree Act in 1958 to register purebred Arabian horses within the borders of Canada. In April, 1975 the association changed its name to The Canadian Arabian Horse Registry (CAHR) and pledges to meet the needs of Arabian horse owners.

Region 17

The Region 17 Arabian Horse Association is a member affiliate of the Arabian Horse Association (AHA), the North American governing organization dedicated to promoting and preserving the Arabian horse. Geographically, Region 17 is the largest of the 18 AHA Regions, covering all of Western Canada and comprised of four provinces - Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba & Saskatchewan, and three northern territories - Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon.
